Re: Barclays Arrival

I applied for this card last summer and was denied with a FICO of 730, so I'm extremely bitter.

+1 Maybe I will see if I can PC to the ring card, but I would never use that card either. Don't really see a benefit since I don't carry a balance so APR is irrelavant to me. Just want to keep the account open for profile purposes.

How about the Arrival World MasterCard no-AF version? I've heard that others were able to downgrade to that version. I have the Arrival+ on my consideration list for later this year. If I were to get it, I'd plan to downgrade after a year. Maybe it's just me, but I think the sign-up bonus is still pretty decent. And I wouldn't have much use for the Ring either.

Re: Barclays Arrival

The no AF version is generally regarded as pretty weak. 2x on dining and travel redeemable at full 2.1 value for travel. Nothing advantageous over a double cash or fidelity amex.

RIght, but wouldn't have to be used much, just a no AF way to keep the CL from the Arrival Plus.

Re: Barclays Arrival

But then you get into "why keep what you know you will never use?", unless you plan to PC later again or something. Keeping just for util is overblown sometimes

Re: Barclays Arrival

In my case, I would be interested in reaping the rewards of the Arrival+ and also maintaining my account history with Barclays. Not so much for utilization in my case. This would create an even thicker file for me. And I would be able to find a little use out of the no fee card.
