Sigh, this is very unfair to you. I remember when you were approved for this card. It seems like they should warn applicants if these changes are gonna take place near the time of application. It feels dishonest to me.
On another note, I had a Barclay's Reward card that they sold to another lender without warning. It happened to a lot of us, so I closed that card and transferred it's limit to the Uber, now this. I guess it's permanent SD for me!
it's really depressing! i called them to complain and said it's already all over the internet and people are upset, they're not gonna use the card anymore and they should reconsider changing it. so i asked how many other people are complaining about it... only 1 other person had called. yep. SD here we come.
It's all over the Internet on forums like this, but we're simply a loud minority. Complaining (especially when the complaints are coming from unprofitable reward maximizers) is not going to change Barclay or Uber's mind, and I am sure they both agreed up on these changes.
Well this sucks! I guess I will be using my Costco visa for dining and then discover/freedom for 5% when they have dining bonuses. Does anyone know when we should stop using the card and cash out our current points? My email said February 2020 and my statements usually generate on the 5th of each month. Would that mean we can use it until Febuary 5th or would it be better until January 5th? I may just let the statement generate until November 5th and cash out and not bother with the card anymore.

It would be best to cashout prior to the statement close i FEB.
Best guess is the MONTH listed is the statement that is produced in that month is in which the earnings & points convert to the new program.
When you earn rewards with your Uber Credit Card, starting with your billing period in May 2020, they’ll come in the form of Uber Cash. You can redeem for Uber rides, Uber Eats, or rides with JUMP bikes and scooters. Uber Cash never expires.Up until 24 hours before your product changes, you can continue to redeem your points for gift cards or statement credits as well as Uber Cash. When your product changes, any unredeemed points will be converted to Uber Cash.

I thought this wording was weird because they didn't specify cash back just gift cards, statement credits, and uber cash.

since your email said feb and your new statement begins feb6, i think you better cash out no later than on feb 4th to meet the 24hrs stipulation.

That should tell you something.
Forums like this one give the illusion that we live in a world full of people who carry more than 10 cards and maximize rewards earning and never carry balances. People like us are a VERY small part of their market. And it's a good thing too because these products would not exist if most of their customers were as savvy as we are. They don't care about complaints from customers who aren't profitable.
