Hi, this is Sherlock. Whom do I have the pleasure of chatting with today?

You 04:36 PM

Hey, Sherlock. My name is MyLoFICO. I was wanting to check and see if my Quicksilver is eligible for an upgrade?

Sherlock 04:36 PM

I appreciate that you have contacted us to check on this. I would be glad to access your account and check that for you. Bear with me for just a moment while I review the account.

You 04:38 PM

Sure thing

Sherlock 04:39 PM

Thank you for your patience.

MyLo, I have reviewed your account and I see that currently I do not see a upgrade offer available on the account.

You 04:39 PM

Ok. I figured that might be the case. Is there a way I can check for upgrade eligibility online without having to go through Chat or the phone?

Sherlock 04:41 PM

I’d be happy to show you how you can check if you are eligible for the upgrade offer.

Sherlock 04:41 PM

If you have available offers displayed, then you are eligible to upgrade your card or change the rewards program.

Sherlock 04:41 PM

From the postlogin interstitial page, click Upgrade Now, to be directed to the Rewards Upgrades page.

You 04:42 PM

I don't see the upgrade now after login.

Sherlock 04:42 PM

If there is a offer available, then it will show up on your online account.

You 04:43 PM

That is odd. On my last upgrade it wasn’t there and the guy in chat said he saw one available. When I upgraded to the QS with no fee in April

Sherlock 04:43 PM

I understand that, however all the upgrade offers will not show up on your online banking account.

You 04:44 PM

And there is no way I can check myself? That seems kind of counterproductive for the customer.

Sherlock 04:45 PM

I'm sorry, there are not other options available, however you can get in touch with us anytime and we are available to help you 24/7.

You 04:45 PM

Well, I guess that will have to do. I appreciate your help.

Sherlock 04:46 PM

Thank you. I appreciate your understanding.

Re: Capital One check for upgrade link

Quick question -- there are a lot of pages on this forum and I'm at work or else I'd look through every page for my answer.

Cap1 Platinum was the first unsecured card I was approved for as I was rebuilding. Cap1 offered me an upgrade from Platinum to Quicksilver (not One), same credit limit of $300 (LOL), no annual fee, same APR. Is it worth it to upgrade?  I'm still going to SD this card as I have an AmEX ($500 CL), Discover IT ($1,200 CL), Chase FU ($1,500 CL), BofA Travel Rewards ($3,700 CL), and NFCU Go Rewards ($2,100 CL).

Hmmmmm.....

What I use (& strongly recommend): Chase Sapphire Reserve | BofA/ML (Premium Rewards VS, Cash Rewards VS, Merrill+ VS) | AmEx (Amazon Prime Business)

What I have: NFCU | PenFed | General Electric CU | Wright Patt CU | Discover | BBVA | Apple Card (GS)

Total CL with Bank of America = $100,000 (Platinum Honors Merrill Client). I am a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner, so feel free to message me if you have any planning/credit questions.

Re: Capital One check for upgrade link

I'm a little concerned, though it's probably nothing. The approval splash screen said I could continue to use my current Platinum until the new card comes in (and start earning rewards), so I went to Amazon and placed an order a few minutes ago. I usually get a confirmation of payment almost immediately over my phone app, but so far not yet. Also, the account information hasn't updated - it still says "Platinum". Is that usual?

EDIT: I guess I was worrying about nothing. Smiley Tongue Just checked my Capital One Wallet app on my iPhone and the card image has upgraded to Quicksilver, though the transaction hasn't processed yet.

Re: Capital One check for upgrade link

Yes cmm89, I'd take that offer to upgrade for sure. Better chance the QS will grow for you too!

Joe8185, I wouldn't worry just yet. Amazon doesn't always charge your credit card right away on orders. Give it a few. You should see the notification soon!

OK - I guess I'm just used to them processing almost immediately. My account info has updated and now shows the card as being a Quicksilver, so I guess I was just being too nervous about that - it was nearly an hour and a half ago, after all! Smiley TongueSmiley Happy

EDIT: And there we go...approved. Pure nerves, that's all it was.
