Re: Chase Sapphire Elite...

The Visa Infinite info was on a now removed post on Reddit. Of course nothing is 100% but the poster has posted very reliable info in the past. We will have to wait and see.

I seriously doubt this card would be a Visa Infinite, especially since even the premier offering, the Palladium, is a simple Visa Signature. I don't think it's a realistic expectation for this product.

Card isn't for me but it's nice to see Chase shaking things up a bit with a new product since regular CSP has been watered down on perks steadily.

As for 5/24 we've all had that debate a thousand times and I don't think it needs rehashing. United or whoever probably listened to Chase's viewpoint that consumers who hold many cards are not usually profitable customers. They pay in full and sometimes barely use the cards, only holding them for perks. The companies obviously dislike that. Consumers with few cards are more likely to be loyal to those few cards vs spending across a dozen cards and not making Chase much profit. We don't have to like it but from a business perspective it makes sense.

So you don't think the debate needs to be rehashed... but only after you argue your own viewpoint? Okay.

It is Visa Infinite. And actually the JP Morgan Palladium and the Select cards are Visa Signature Preferred, a step above Visa Signature. And finally, who's to say that the aforementioned products won't get upgraded to Visa Infinite?

If it's going to be a Visa Infinite then the Palladium and their other premium cards will probably be a Visa Infinite as well.

American Express: Platinum Charge, Business Platinum, Business Gold, Delta Business Reserve, Business Cash, Business Plus
Bank of America: Alaska Air Atmos Summit Visa Infinite
Capital One: Savor WEMC, Venture X Visa Infinite
Chase: Freedom U Visa Signature, CSR Visa Infinite
Citibank: AAdvantage Globe WLMC
Elan/US Bank: Fidelity Visa Signature
Credit Union: Cash Back Visa Signature

Re: Chase Sapphire Elite...

This new card may entice me to break my one new card per year rule.  My hope would be that it has a hidden TL like my JP Morgan Select.  I'd likely close and merge the Select's TL into the new Sapphire.  Smiley Happy

Yea I really hope they make it out of solid metal like the Ritz. It would also be nice if they make the "facets" of the Sapphire stand out a bit more. The timing of this new Sapphire coudn't be better for me, my CSP will be a year old in September so I might PC if it's enticing enough.

I'll be pissed if they don't have flashing LED lights on the card and the VISA logo is not made out of silver.

If this card isn't made out of ivory and dalmatian fur, I refuse to apply for it.

Re: Chase Sapphire Elite...

Every visa card in Canada with a hundred plus annual fee is a visa infinite, it's really not a big deal.

No visa signature in Canada probably because the word signature makes no sense in a country with chip and pin only

Re: Chase Sapphire Elite...

If the sign up bonus is really 100k then I'll get it.

But reading that they change the card material to reduce cost makes me wonder how good all the benefits are. Probably still can't beat AMEX and citi

Really?  I hardly think what the card is made of is any indicator of the benefits it might provide.  This isn't just directed at you but this forum obsession with metal cards is ridiculous at times.  They aren't anything special.  In case you're not aware, neither the Prestige or Platinum cards are metal either.
