Re: Journey with Cred.AI

@Horseshoez

If a lender is using automated systems with no manual human intervention, they likely will not see other than a credit entry in the person's CB profile.

Re: CRED AI... Does this sound legit to you guys?

@Aim_High

Interesting you mention going into a bank branch for verification. It happened to me four times with a major bank that I was already a customer. Could not get online or by telephone approvals!

Also, I did pull the CBs and other information collectors to find things correct and in order! What to say? Bank has treated me well over ten years so go figure? Smiley Surprised

Well if was good enough for the Gov for me to obtain my carry license!  Forget them I'm not jumping thru a bunch of hoops!

Re: Cred.ai

You are right, no rewards BUT it's a great way I believe to pay for items that don't take credit cards..for example my gas card won't accept a cc for payment. So if I pay my gas card w/regular debit , that money is just gone and my fuel card balance is paid. But if I use the metal debit card to pay my fuel card, that payment gets reported to the credit bureaus on my behalf .

Today I received the card in the mail. Card  Looks very nice. But it is disappointing it is only a debit card and no rewards or benefits attached to it. I'll keep it as souvenir. That is it for now for this card.

Re: Cred.ai

Just wanted to chime in with my experience so far with CRED.AI, since there continues to be very limited info about it overall.

I wasn't actively looking for a new card but somehow stumbled upon a news article regarding these new fintech credit card companies that specifically pointed out CRED.AI - of course I was interested in learning more about it since it's a different approach to credit. Will admit that I was initially hesitant but after some research (including finding the posts here), learned that it is indeed a legit card backed by a legit bank. Their site and message certainly does come across as bold.

Outside of the newness of the company with limited information (it's only been running for 2 years now?), my only other concern was having to use Plaid with my bank account, which I'm not a fan of but decided that it really doesn't matter in the end. After signing up, turns out Plaid is or was having issues in connecting to my primary bank account. CRED.AI suggested using a different account so I went with an Ally account I rarely use. Accepted it with no problems but am wondering if they're going to come back asking questions in the future since there is almost zero activity and only a $5 balance in that account.

I signed up for it on Sunday evening and receieved my metal card Wednesday afternoon. I will say I'm thoroughly impressed with their presentation and turnaround speed of getting the card into your hands. Also, it's nice that you can add money to the account either through the linked account or any other debit card instantly. With all of that said, so far, my impression went from skeptical to a solidified cool factor. It's a fun card, has "represents" followed by your name below, has "autograph" on the back followed by your signature and is hands down the coolest (and only metal) card I own. *almost went for an Apple card a while back but decided against it

So far, so good. I'll post back with updates as I use the card and sooner than later should my experience change. Doubt I'll use the majority of the features it has but in the end (stealth mode may prove to be usable) I really like what I"m seeing. I mean, who doesn't want to pay for their purcahses with a cool looking metal Unicorn card? I suppose those trying to earn cashback or rewards with other cards but for a typical "use" card, this seems like a good way to go that deviates from your primary bank account being used, which I like the idea of.

Anyone else have any updates, issues, or otherwise to report with their CRED card?

Re: Cred.ai

it does add a $1500 tradeline to your credit report so this will effect your AAoA - i got it to add positive tradelines when i was at the beginning of my rebuild but i am looking to find out how i can get the account removed from my report since i dont want it to count toward my 5/24 in the future.

Personal Cards (Over $100k):

Business Cards:

Rebuilding Starting Scores - December 2021

FICO SCORE 8/9 - Current 1/6/23

Stats: : 3/6; 8/12; 17/24 --- AAoA 3 YRS, 8 MO --- INQ: EX-6/TU-7/EQ-2

Re: Cred.ai

Yeah Crystal, the card really is cool. Are you planning on picking one up?

As far as the 1500 tradeline and 5/24 goes (I had to look that one up, heh) I rarely open new accounts. This will be my 2nd one this year and the first time I've opened new accounts in over 3 years. Not really sure how AAoA really affects matters overall (I'm guessing it must be single digit affecting or really low double digits?) but since my only plans for new accounts upcoming would be an auto loan account next year, I can't be bothered too much by the ill-effects, especially if it's ultimately increasing my credit score in some way or another.

Definitely didn't need the card but at the same time, why not. The only other card I could be swayed by at this point would be an X1 invite.

Re: Cred.ai

Hey there, I stumbled across this post tonight and wondered how this ended up for you. I opened this same Cred.ai acct. 2 weeks ago. Now I am looking for some advice on how to close it and when. I am brand new at credit re-building. Did I make a mistake is what I'm wondering.

Did you close yours?

How much money do you have deposited with cred.ai?  Personally I'd close the account and use the money to get a real secured card.
