Yup, got all four.

- Visa (lost count since it's too many! Smiley Tongue )

- Mastercard (probaly 2 or 3)

Re: Do you have one from each of the Big Four?

Yes, but never all at the same time, and the official Amex was a Business card.

Discover was actually my very first bank credit card. It, my Target, and my Macy's cards were the first ones I got when I was 18 (this was looooong before the CARD Act).

I got into some trouble with it in my late teens and early 20's (as one is wont to do), but ended up with the account still being open. I got so credit shy, however, that I stopped using it and it was eventually closed for inactivity about 10 years ago.

Kicking myself now for it too... That would be a 20 year old tradeline this year, and whatever missed payment's I'd had back in the day would be quite irrelevant now.

Do you have at least one of each? If not, which are you missing?

I have a Visa by way of a local bank card backed by Elan, and a Quicksilver Mastercard. That's it so far. I want an Amex BCE next, so would there be any benefit to having a Discover too? I like the Chase Freedom revolving categories better than the Discover It categories, but I'm wondering if I should get an It card to have all four for any decent reason. Does it help in building a more well-rounded profile or increase your score to have them all?

Discover wont let me in, no matter what!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Do you have one from each of the Big Four?

I have one of each:

Amex BCE

Barclay Ring (Mastercard)

Chase CSP (Visa)

Discover

I did not realized until I looked at the credit report recently, that the banks names followed the alphabet and not only that I open them in that in that order. I did not do it on purpose, it just worked out that way when I closed three other credit cards. Same thing with 4 networks, I did not open the credit cards just for that reason, but overtime applying for cards I ended up with every network.

The Chase credit card is a Visa Signature, however I do not currently have a World Elite Mastercard. I did a month ago, but I closed it as I was getting scared of Citibank.
