I saw that thread but never clicked on it. Went looking for it and couldn't find it. Also I'm on mobile, so it's kinda annoying for me. I'll look from my desktop when I get to work. But hopefully someone will post the link here LOL
There have definitely been a number of FOTM cards. Some have been good...others, not so much.
Citi DC was a FOTM when it came out. The frustration for those cards were low initial CLs and people doing 2nd HPs to get decent CLs. I jumped on that bandwagon and regret it, although many people are very happy with their CCs and it's been a stable product.
NASA CC was another FOTM for the SP approvals and large CLs...and the cool looking cards! It's not a bad card either, but doesn't fit my needs.
Overstock was another FOTM...SCT, SP approval, large initial CLs and typically an instant CLI. Monthly CLIs after that were common. I used my card once and only once for special financing. I will close it sometime between now and the end of the year.
Oh and we can't forget Diners Club and all the fat approvals. Then abruptly suspended apps because they ran out of plastic to print cards and never re-opened applications.

Some of that was also the hidden trade line, which people were up in arms about when it reported.

I got in on that too at a $20k SL (still at that limit), the bonus was that it did not report for 18 months which allowed me to carry some family "estate expenses" on that card for over a year without hitting my utility report. Finally reported to the CRA's last month, it now carries a $00.00 statement balance but pads the over all utility. Still think the "critter cards" were more of a FOTM that crashed and burned.
Ed/Add: If this was last year I'd probably go for the Blispay Visa (737 EX, 786 TU, 767 EQ) but frankly I don't need another $5-10k card even with the nice 6 months same as cash attractive option. Right now I'm carrying a zero percent balance on one card and a Lowes promotional project balance at 5.99%, everything else is PIF every month. If this was a $20k CLI card I might take it and close out one or more of my 10k cards - IF and only IF the card proved to stick around.
My goal for 2016 is to get under 12 cards all with $15k plus limits.
