I will call and find out if new cards are in order.
However, since I have one of the newer cards (with that 🔑 symbol), I have no practical need for a replacement.
It would be kinda of sad if your Venture card had a little mishap in a month or two.
I know it shouldn't matter but I'd be disappointed if I didn't get a new card out of the deal.
Just wait and when you card "eventually" gets damaged request a new one. They will send you an SASE for the old card so they'll know you aren't lying.
Whatever you do- don't leave it in your pocket with your magnet collection . You must need to physically swipe it sometimes right? Science is fun and I love magnets.
About 15 years ago I put my debit card in my pocket with about 5 new magnets and it had to be replaced.
Doesn't it take 40 days to complete a PC? When I do a PC, they tell me I have 40 days to go back to old card. I've done many PCs between Amex, Chase and BofA. They all charged for new anual fee after the 40 days Mark. 🤷🏻♂️
My PC was instant. The 40 days you mention may be a reconsideration time frame offered by the aforementioned issuers.
Haven't called yet.
I keep all of my old Venture cards despite the prepaid envelopes. I will say it would be kinda cool having the VISA Infintite label (for flexing,) but only a tiny percentage of the real world knows what this is or cares.
I had the same situation as the OP. I did call and the rep told me that they are going to make an adjustment, crediting back the $59 and charging the $395 AF. It has not happened yet though.
Aawww man.

Well hopefully since I didn't call them and poke the bear I'll still fall though the cracks. I will post if/when they increase my fee. @sjt please post when they adjust your account.

I was wondering about this given the DPs further upthread. If they had somehow kept it for $59 (or $95) AF as a PC for 12 months, then the Venture X upgrade (sans SUB) would still be a 'steal.'
I have no horse in the race, but I'm definitely curious how Capital One will handle these specific PCs vs the [no AF] Savor grandfathered instances 🤔
Long time member, but very rare poster here.
I also PC'd to the Venture X on launch day, and when I logon, I do still see my annual fee as $59. HOWEVER, I just opened a letter from Capital One today stating that they'll be changing my annual fee to $395 effective 1/13/22. It was nice to feel grandfathered in for a little while though!
