Regular Savor dropping it Oct 1 as well. We have a WEMC.
I'm pissed I didn't know P2 HAD the coverage (and he was clueless, even with me saying we need a card that has it). Both of us had to replace phones due to intense screen damage this year, and had to pay high deductibles for them (300 each).
@Anonymous I'm not going to highjack this thread, I'm going to have to go read all 1000 posts in the MaxCash mega-thread. But I've gone back to several of the banks/CU's that offer the MaxCash card and on each one they have the standard Elan link.....and if you go to the very bottom of the page you see this....
So this begs the question.....do you have the "option" as to which version you want when you apply for the card, or does that specific bank/CU only offer a single particular version that you would have to inquire to find out? And for the banks that do offer the MC version, do they actually support the phone protection benefit?
This would be a huge replacement for my Uber card for phone protection. And for others who have lost it on the Savor, as the OP mentioned. I'm going to have to dig into this some more. Elan mega-thread, here I come...

A bank/CU either has Visas, or MCs. About a dozen of them have MCs. You do not get to pick which type when you apply, you have to find a place that is offering MCs.
@ChazzieT confirmed for me on page 70:
"I have the card and have the cell phone protection I copy/pasted earlier. Elan was unable to verify, so transfered me to MC, who checked, by my card number, and confirmed."
Thanks @unsungivy Had to stop my reading and run an errand. I'm currently on Page 35....lol. But according to the confirmation you just pointed out, the Elan Max Cash has officially hit my "definite app" list. Just have to find the right CU to do it with. Phone Protection is a big thing for me, which is why this thread caught my eye.
Now back to your regularly scheduled Savor One thread....

It's a bummer it is losing cell phone protection. If you are looking for another option @Taurus22, the CFF has it. I'm going to be closing my CF in the 4th quarter (unless it is a useful category for me), and then opening a CFF. I'm looking to park my cell phone on it and snag a nifty 20k more URs.
@TSlop Whoa! When did that happen? See, now you gonna get me Mod-slapped in this Savor One thread....lol
First, that's $800/per claim $50 deductible. That's even better than the Uber or Max Cash coverage. ($600/per claim $50 deduct) That's the highest amount of coverage I've seen via credit card issuer.
But the difference lies with the 5% Cell Phone Provider cashback that the MaxCash offers. Not going to get that with CFF. But it depends on your personal phone bill as to how much difference there is in the cashback...
Let's see: My phone bill is $108 monthly ($1296/year) @5% = $64.80 cashback
vs. the extra $200 in coverage from CFF
Hmmm.....that's a conundrum. In the event I never have to use the insurance, I lose almost $65 in CB. But in the event I need to use the benefit, I would come out ahead......
That's going to take some more thought.....thanks for the info, I didn't even know CFF offered it.
My B, @Taurus22. I figure it is topic-related, since anyone checking out this thread after losing Savor One cell phone protection might be looking for a replacement card, and I didn't see anyone list the CFF in this thread yet. It gained cell phone protection since its debut (last year?), which I assume is due to the MasterCard network.
@TSlop After more thought, I still think the MaxCash MC comes out somewhat ahead for me. It would take 3 years of $65 cashback (with my personal monthly cell phone expense) to effectively break even with the $200 extra coverage from the CFF. I rarely break phones, so it's a security thing for me honestly. If I never have to use the coverage at all, then the cashback comes out on top.
That's still really nice for the CFF. Some of those, like you mentioned, who are losing out with the Savor One may already have a backup and may not have known it.
Post #650 is the list of known FIs I put together with the help of others that offers the MCP MasterCard.
@JNA1 Yep, I just finished reading the entire 71 page thread lol. Already bookmarked some of those, going back to look at the other benefits of the FI's. It's strange how closely all this is tied together for me....Just so happens this thread popped up at the same time.
I've already been looking for another CU to join, but I'm trying to check all these boxes:
1) CU must be in the Shared Co-Op and not geo-fenced (I'm in SC)
2) CU must offer the MaxCash MC version for the Phone Protection
3) CU hopefully has 2%+ APY dividend Checking and/or Savings accounts or some other benefit than just the CC
And it is surprisingly difficult to check all those boxes....I've been digging through the https://www.creditunionsonline.com/search_usa.html list state-by-state for the past 2 days trying to find one that comes the closest. That Greater Nevada CU you listed looks promising....checking it out next.
