I saw c00mtg post and thought I'd see if anything has changed. Today I actually got a different result, 2 cards both at 16.99%. I have no prior relationship with US Bank so I'm not sure how solid these are or if it's worth jumping in their bed...
Is US Bank a fairly conservative bank? Anyone think they have anything special to offer. I've gotten so used to being denied by them that I've never considered rolling them into my lineup. Has this bank loosened up their grip or did I just cross over that magic line where they're arent completely inconvenienced by just looking at me
US Bank Cash+ Visa Signature, 0% APR for 15 Cycles, 16.99% APR, $0 Annual Fee
US Bank Cash 365 American Express, 0% APR for 15 Cycles, 16.99% APR, $0 Annual Fee
Well, you a least have better APRs then me
lol I'm not super worried about the APR, but like the easy bonus target. I actually did follow up with them today and they sent me to verification.
The guy came on the phone and said "we needed to verify it was you that applied for this card". I said "yes, it was me." He asked to put me on hold, came back like 2-3 minutes later and said "looks like all the verification matched up" so I'll be forwarding your application on for final approval (even though all i literally said was "yes, it was me" LOL)
About an hour later the automated line said "Congratulations you're Approved!" - i will call over the next few days to see if i can get the limit and final APR.
Ummm, i keep wanting to pullt the trigger! Did you apply for one or two?
This is what i get when i hit the apply button, then if i refresh, the application comes up...ummmm!!

Just a heads up c00t, two weeks ago I did a pre-qualification on their site and it said I was approved for Cash+ and the other one. Last week I did the same thing because I decided to apply, but the site gave me the same error you just got. So I just applied for it through their website the normal way without the pre-qualification stuff. I was approved for 5k instantly.
Good luck! They are a strange one, the more conservative your credit file looks the better.
Good to know, thanks!!!
I actually just went to the pre-qual page for US Bank, and it came back with 3 cards to choose from. Im thinking something must be wrong. lol. I dont want to apply & get hit with another inquiry.. Specially cuz my FICO is only at a 630 according to Discover Score.
I'm not sure if USBank prequalifications are real or not.
2016 thread about it: http://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Credit-Cards/U-S-BANK-Pre-Qualify-link-GOOD-AS-GOLD/td-p/4430408

Seems like it varies if it offers a set APR or a range, and some people say a certain color bar above the card tells you if it's a realistic offer or just an invitation to apply (not preapproved).
lol, thanks for the motivation but i'm going to sit this one out.
Did you a least get $5k CL? it is a signature card.

I can see why you might be hesistant. I don't know much about their score thresholds, but I understand two things with US Bank, they are conservative and value existing relationships.
If you have no relationship and dont have a strong/dense profile they might approve you (assumming no baddies present) with a lower line and grow it over time. If you have an existing relationship they seem to relax on requirements for approvals. Trust your gut..you know what you're working with and what works for you. Its tempting, but thats the idea, they get you just tempted enough to bite the bullet and apply
