Re: The Evasive FICO Equation

I know it is a good question to ask but the obvious answer is we don't know, and no one is telling. That's why we have conversations about how are fico score changed on a regular basis to get an idea of how to help others as well as ourselves improve our fico scores. Believe it or not the contributors here are pretty good!!! If you tell them a little more about your situation, we can try to help you improve your scores!!!!

Ok, well I'm wondering who does know. Somebody has got to be willing to leak it.

Re: The Evasive FICO Equation

Indeed, Fused!  Some boards state keeping your utilization under 50%, others say 30%, Fico says 1-9%.  There is a graph on Credit Boards (Tuscani!) that shows score increases according to time and utilization, and I noticed that scores climb substantially when the utilization drops to around 30%.    Between (as I recall) 60% and 30%, there is very little, if any, upward movement.  I'll try to locate it and paste it to this board. If I can't, perhaps Tuscani can?

The graphing system you are referring to belongs to CB... please do not post links to CB on the FICO Forums. Thanks!

Sorry, Tuscani.  Smiley Sad  Should I not have referred to it?  Thank goodness I didn't post a link!  You might really have been cross, huh?

If they leaked it, they'd change it. I am worried about a score drop in my finance area with the different FICO formulas. They should sell all your FICO scores for equifax on MyFICO.com, not just the main one. Because if I apply for an auto my auto score my be different from my online score and again for my credit card score. I wonder if the online score is all the different scoring models averaged. Any body know?

It's probably like the Coke formula.  No single person knows the entire thing.  A few very senior people know parts of it, and they can't travel on the same airplane together.  One crash and we'd all have to drink Pepsi.  Smiley Sad

Same with FICO.  I'll bet no one has access to the whole program.
