I know it's disheartening, but the CLIs will come.

How is he using the card? Did he just go on a spree of apps?

He charges about 100 a month pays in full when bill comes. Amex Fico is 681. No new application sprees or anything. I mean 6 months come on AMEX

Is he in Amex's version of "credit steps?"  If he is, then it seems that you're being a bit impatient.  He will get a 2X CLI by the end of the 7th month ( usually about a week after the 180 days are reached).  He should not apply for a CLI; he should wait for the 2X CLI then he can potentially ask for the 3X right away.  I'd wager that the reason for the denial is that he's requesting too early.

Thanks I suppose he is on credit steps with a 500SL but never recall getting info in the beginning for the credit steps but we could have. Yes maybe a little impatient but 6 months as opposed to 7 don't see much of a huge difference there Lol. But thanks I didn't know that is how they work in regards to that.

If you read the Terms & Conditions section of the "credit steps" email you will see that they state a CLI will be granted by the end of the sixth month AFTER THE FIRST PAYMENT (basically they are saying by the end of the seventh month after approval).

Thanks I swear I don't remember this email?? Now has me wondering if I am on the credit steps as I started with 1000CL? Also when we tried at 3 months for hubby the denial letter never stated that do they normally state that in denial letter?

I understand your frustration, I’ve been stuck at $1000 SL with Amex Delta, July will be a year.
