I have mid to high 500 scores which i have read is acceptable by barclays.

I have 1 card reporting for 9 months and two Cap1 cards i just got only two months in.

Do you thnk they will struggle with the two new cards?

Min. 12 month history and that may not even get you in. I had a 12 month history and the rep on the phone said my history was too short for Barclay Rewards.

I then directly went and apped for the Barclay Apple Rewards Card and got $2,000 CL.

Also, those 500's scores might be a bit low. YMMV.

Agreed. I was approved for  my Apple Rewards card with my Bankruptcy still reporting. It was for 2k and has not moved from that since then. A few months later when my scores had skyrocketed I applied for Ring and was approved for 12.5k so waiting does make a huge difference. I think at some point at the end of this year I will just fold that Apple card into the Ring, if I can't get the credit line raised.

You will get it, musiclover, you are doing great! Remkember they should have the SP offers if you call in, when the time is right for you, Try to get the line raised before folding it in. Smiley Happy

Re: Barclays

They pull TU for the majority of the time, what is your TU score and is it a fico or fako score?

If you have to, and you want to apply with them, i would recommend Apple Rewards card. I got declined for the rewards MC, called in first thing in the morning, reconned and got approved, and the same evening applied for apple card and got an instant approval for $2K which happened to be my first instant approval on an unsecure credit card. And i love Barclays. Yes their recon is slightly better than any other i have ever tried, but still it does not guarantee anything.

+1 ^^ in my experience their recon dept is full of jerks. They were very rude and  told me I did not have a strong enough credit profile even though my avg age of accounts is over 5 years, 100% on time payments, and I have discover and Amex in my wallet. I hear a lot from other members that they're always soft pulling your credit and monitoring you for adverse action.

Bank of America on the other hand, very nice dude, very willingly to work with me and explain everything on why I would/wouldn't be approved.

I think you need to get your scores up first.

As to their recon department, IMHO it's overrated.

I used to worry about Barclay AA'ing me.....But no more. Been stuck on 4.3K for a while now and showing me no love.

I'm movin' on....I feel like I have better cards now. Just got approved with NASA for 8K (SP) and Promise Visa and BBVA 5.5K.

I would say B of A is slightly better but thats not saying much.....
