I would like to build a relationship with Amex what is a good starter card my scores are Eq 606, Ex 618, Tu 616. Any help would be appreciated.
@razzy116 They dont have "starter" cards. Their "starters" are reflected in limits if approved.
I'm sorry, but at this time, you're looking at almost certain denial with your scores and negatives.
There's a lot of good secured cards out there that graduate.

Credit Union is great while your rebuilding and for long run. 👍
I think starting a relationship with a credit union is a great idea. Many of them offer secured cards. Also, Discover has a nice secured card that graduates in about 7 months. Good luck!

Credit Unions are great and I highly recommend them! However, they can be tricky to suggest for someone when you don't know much about them. Due to their charters which are required for them to operate as non-profit organizations , many credit unions have geofencing restrictions on membership that keep them closed to most people who do not live or work in a limited geographic area or do not work for a SEG (Selected Employer Group). While it's sometimes possible to by-pass these restrictions or find CUs with a more at-large charter (like PenFed), it is usually best to start with credit unions you can connect to through your employment, through your affiliated groups (for example as a veteran or alumni of a certain university), or in your local area.
